Synopsis from Goodreads: There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

In this post, I'm just going to compare my thoughts from the first time I read it to the thought I have now after reading it a second time, so this isn't a review :)

I read this book for the first time back in 2009. It was OK. I didn't really like it that much, and I gave it two feet, because Luce annoyed me, the plot bored me, and quite frankly, there were way too many similarities to Twilight. But now, reading it again, I've bumped up my rating to three feet, because this time around, it was better. Not by loads, but enough to make me reconsider my rating.
Luce still annoyed me, though not nearly as much. She was still whiny and a little blonde at times, but she didn't get on my nerves quite so much. Maybe this was because I knew that was what she was going to be like, or I just had a change of heart, I have no idea...
The plot was still good because I'd completely forgotten what happened. About three quarters of the way through though, I began to get bored, because I started to remember what happened. I'm glad I pushed through though, the ending was good and there were a couple of things that I think are important for the next books that I'd forgotten, and so I was glad for the reminder, which is why I reread the book.
So that's it, there wasn't much that differed to the first time I read it, it still wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either :) Will move onto Torment again in a couple of books time, and then I'll read Passion, which is waiting to be read in my room :)

  2. I gave up on this book. It just didn't work for me. So far it's the only book that I've completely given up on this year.

*I am no longer accepting blog awards :( I do not have time to go through all the things that come with it, and though I'm honoured you thought of me, I'm sure you can find someone who will love it, and be able to carry out the rules :)

Book Blogger Hop #10 and Follow Friday #5

It's Friday again, so time for the Book Blogger Hop and the Follow Friday! What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?  My answer: I didn't really enjoy Fallen by Lauren Kate very much, and I'm not sure why, I just didn't. Anyway, I wasn't really sure how to post my review, but I ended up saying why I didn't like it, but also all the parts I thought were good. I always try and post my honest opinion, and if I didn't like a particular book, I will try and say so in the nicest way possible, saying what the good bits were too. Because a book can't be all bad, can it?  What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby? My answer: Although reading takes up a lot of my time, I do do other things... I play the flute, and am currently on Grade 6 so that takes up a lot of my time too... And apart from reading and reviewing on my blog, I don't really do much else. I listen to a ...

Book Blogger Hop #4

It's that time again, for the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Jennifer at Crazy For Books! It gives bloggers a chance to hop around and find some awesome new blogs to follow! I frequently find new books that I need to read, and it's a great way to make new friends! Click the link above to sign up! =] Where is your favourite place to read? Curled up on the sofa, in bed, in the garden? My answer: My favourite place to read is in the corner of our corner sofa in the living room, when my brother is playing the Xbox, because then, I can block out the sounds of him blowing things up and just get lost in a book. I can't read there though if the TV's on, as I'll just end up watching the programme instead! I also like reading in bed, but sometimes I'll find myself drifting off, so I don't read there very often!
