Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Character Names That I Loved

Hey everyone! I'll be back with a review in the next couple of days hopefully but today I thought the Top Ten Tuesday topic was fun so I'm taking part! Here are my Top Ten Character Names That I Loved! 1. Cricket Bell . Right, so he's from Lola and the Boy Next Door and at first I hated his name and thought it was stupid - I mean who would think Cricket was a good name? But as the book went on and he got more adorable, the name completely suited him and although I still think it's weird, it kinda fits and I actually really like it! 2. Plutarch Heavensbee . He's from Catching Fire and Mockingjay , and I just think his name is great! I love how there are so many names of Greek (Plutarch) and Latin (Caesar, Seneca) origin in The Hunger Games trilogy, but Plutarch Heavensbee was my favourite, I think. 3. Laureth Peak . I've just finished She Is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick and I laughed at how she was named this. Also her little brother's raven,...

Top Ten Tuesday: Books Set In Boarding Schools

I'm on holiday right now with lots of family so it's difficult to get time to myself, so I probably won't be writing any reviews until I get back home. So I've got a Top Ten Tuesday for you to today! TOP TEN BOOKS SET IN BOARDING SCHOOLS Today's topic was 'Books Set In X' so I chose boarding schools because boarding schools are awesome. I love the drama and relationships that take place between teenagers living together 24/7, without parental supervision... Great fun! Here are my top ten picks: Harry Potter by JK Rowling - Obviously. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - I reread this yesterday and oh my goodness I'd forgotten how perfect it is. I want to go to boarding school in France! Shades of London by Maureen Johnson - These books are great, set in a boarding school in London. Can't wait for the next one! Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins - These books are such good reads! Funny too. I love them. Night School by CJ Daugh...

Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Books Read Since the Blogging Started

Hey! I haven't done a Top Ten Tuesday for yonks so I thought I'd do one today, seeing as I have a lot of reviews coming up and I don't want to bore you with just reviews. So, here's today's topic: Top Ten Favourite Books You've Read During the Lifespan Of Your Blog   1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins: Never would I EVER have gone anywhere near a book that had the words 'French kiss' in the title had I not become a blogger. If I hadn't read all the glowing reviews from other bloggers I wouldn't have read it, and because I liked it so much it quickly became one of my favourites when I read it last year. 2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: This book is incredible. Seriously. I cried like a baby, and it's so beautiful and powerful and oh my goodness if you haven't read it, you really must.  3. The Demon Trappers Series by Jana Oliver:  I adore this series! It's fast-paced, exciting, and so so reada...

Top Ten Tuesday #2: Dystopians

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish . :) This week was a freebie week, so I could choose anything about literature to do a top ten of. And Top Ten Dystopians was suggested, so I thought, hey, I love dystopians, so let's do that... Not sure how many I've read though! ;) If I haven't read 10 I'll add ones that I like the sound of :D 1. The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - Do I really need to say anything about this series? I think most people have read it now, but if you haven't, I'm ordering you to go and buy/borrow/swap a copy, and read it. And don't worry if 24 children killing each other doesn't sound like your thing, because I didn't think it would be mine either... ;) My review is here . 2. Divergent by Veronica Roth - This book was AMAZING. I'm still not sure whether or not I liked this better than The Hunger Games, but it was at least as good as they were... If you...

Top Ten Tuesday: Settings in Books

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Top Ten Settings in Books  ( The places that you've read about that you wish you could visit ) 1. The Victorian London from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare  - I've been to London lots of times, but I adored this time period, so any book set in this time would have done, but I liked it in Clockwork Angel most because Cassie's writing is so descriptive and wonderful. I love her :)  2. Idris from City of Glass by Cassandra Clare - Idris sounds amazing! A secret place that's not on any map, where only Shadowhunters are allowed?! Who wouldn't want to go there? :L 3. Hogwarts from Harry Potter by JK Rowling - Do I really need to explain this one? Though there always seems to be some dark magic going on somewhere at this place, it still sounds like an amazing place to visit! 4. The Capitol from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - I'm just going to add, this is BEFORE Mockingjay, I don't think I...
