Book of the Week #1

Every week, I will post a book of the week. I think you should read it. It might be new, it might be really old. It doesn't matter. It will just be a book, that I have read, and think you should read. =]

This week, for the first one, I'm going to say...

CLOCKWORK ANGEL - CASSANDRA CLARE

Title: Clockwork Angel
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publication Date: September 2010
When I Read It: September 2010
Synopsis: Magic is dangerous - but love is more dangerous still.
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray arrives in England during the reign of Queen Victoria, something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Friendless and hunted, Tessa seeks refuge with the Shadowhunters, a band of warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons. Drawn ever deeper into their world, she finds herself fascinated by - and torn between - two best friends and quickly realises that love may be the most dangerous magic of all. - From the back of the book.
Recommended if: You love The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare; you love young adult fiction; you love the genre (Paranormal).
Ages: 13+
Why I Loved It:  Because it is very well written, easy to read, and not too short. Also, I love Cassandra Clare, so of course, I loved this!

Book Blogger Hop #10 and Follow Friday #5

It's Friday again, so time for the Book Blogger Hop and the Follow Friday! What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?  My answer: I didn't really enjoy Fallen by Lauren Kate very much, and I'm not sure why, I just didn't. Anyway, I wasn't really sure how to post my review, but I ended up saying why I didn't like it, but also all the parts I thought were good. I always try and post my honest opinion, and if I didn't like a particular book, I will try and say so in the nicest way possible, saying what the good bits were too. Because a book can't be all bad, can it?  What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby? My answer: Although reading takes up a lot of my time, I do do other things... I play the flute, and am currently on Grade 6 so that takes up a lot of my time too... And apart from reading and reviewing on my blog, I don't really do much else. I listen to a ...

Book Blogger Hop #4

It's that time again, for the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Jennifer at Crazy For Books! It gives bloggers a chance to hop around and find some awesome new blogs to follow! I frequently find new books that I need to read, and it's a great way to make new friends! Click the link above to sign up! =] Where is your favourite place to read? Curled up on the sofa, in bed, in the garden? My answer: My favourite place to read is in the corner of our corner sofa in the living room, when my brother is playing the Xbox, because then, I can block out the sounds of him blowing things up and just get lost in a book. I can't read there though if the TV's on, as I'll just end up watching the programme instead! I also like reading in bed, but sometimes I'll find myself drifting off, so I don't read there very often! Book Blogger Hop #7 and Follow Friday #2

It's Friday again, and tome for the Book Blogger Hop and the Follow Friday. First up, the Book Blogger Hop. If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title? My answer: Yes, definitely. I don't like reading books out of order, as I get confused, and if I've read book 3 without reading book 1, I'll end up muddling myself up, and not enjoy reading them. I can't start in the middle of the series, it just feels wrong. I always start at the beginning of the series, and work my way through all the books, in order. Also, I don't like being spoiled, so if I read the second book first, I'll know what's coming after the first one before I read it, and where's the fun in that?  What is your usual monthly book budget? My answer: Hmm... I'm not really sure. Depends what books I want, and how long it takes to read them, and stuff like that. Usually, I get through about 8 books a month, so howeve...
