It's Friday again, so time for the Book Blogger Hop and the Follow Friday!
What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?
My answer: I didn't really enjoy Fallen by Lauren Kate very much, and I'm not sure why, I just didn't. Anyway, I wasn't really sure how to post my review, but I ended up saying why I didn't like it, but also all the parts I thought were good. I always try and post my honest opinion, and if I didn't like a particular book, I will try and say so in the nicest way possible, saying what the good bits were too. Because a book can't be all bad, can it?
What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby?
My answer: Although reading takes up a lot of my time, I do do other things... I play the flute, and am currently on Grade 6 so that takes up a lot of my time too... And apart from reading and reviewing on my blog, I don't really do much else. I listen to a lot of music... It depends what mood I'm in really :L

Hi. New visitor from the BBH.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your choice. I couldn't finish Fallen but since I didn't finish it, I didn't feel okay about posting a review of it, especially a negative one.
Off to check out some of your posts this week.
Have a good weekend,
Rachel Star :)

Hi Bella! Thanks for stopping by my blog:) Fallen seems to be a pretty popular answer to this question! I thought it was okay, I read it before I started blogging and enjoyed it, but now that I've read a lot more YA books, I can see how it would be disappointing in comparison:) I'm an old follower, I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletewe picked the same book-fallen :) thanks for stopping by my blog! i'm a new follower!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I enjoyed Fallen, but we all have our own opinions. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower~
Fallen is a pretty common answer for this question! I liked it, but it didn't blow me out of the water, either. I'm a new follower! My hop is at Coffee Table Press
ReplyDeleteI just bought Fallen. I hope I end up liking it, but this is a pretty common answer so far. Maybe, I'll go in with low expectations and I'll end up liking it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not too eager to read Fallen despite the hype, and since a lot of people have been saying it's not amazing, I think I'll keep not reading it.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Follow Friday and am your newest follower~~

Hey Bella! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and follow me. I'm swinging by to return the favor and follow you.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it is important to try to find something good to say about a novel if you have to write a negative review because a lot of hard work goes into writing a book whether or not it's good or bad.
I don't believe that reviews that simply trash a novel are good because they tend not to be constructive to the author, so it's important to make sure to back up what you're saying in a sensible way.
Happy Hop!
Awesome that you play flute! Keep up with it. We have to keep the musical arts alive =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I've seen Fallen a lot for this question! I have bought it (sucked in by the pretty cover) but I haven't gotten around to picking it up yet.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Hopping through. I wasn't a big fan of Fallen either. It seems to be a popular answer for this week's question.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
Happy HOP! I had a REALLY hard time with The Hollow and the Bree Tanner novella. Posting my review on Stephenie Meyer gave me the image of an angry mob with pitchforks coming to lynch me. LOL gotta love the imagination!

ReplyDeleteI think you're the sixth blogger I've read who mentioned Fallen as being a disappointment. It's on my TBR but it's been pushed down in priority.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a follower from a previous weekend blog hop! If you haven't already, I would love to have you follow back at one or all four of my blogs :)
