Book Review: Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys in her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgement. 
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and knows more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of a centuries-old battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and sooner or later, she's going to have to pick a side...

I love Hush, Hush. It is my favourite angel book, and I cannot wait until the 18th October, when my copy of Crescendo will be delivered by my postman. I will be reading it as quickly as possible, for these books are so good.

It has been compared a lot to Twilight. I think it's sad that so many books have been. This, The Hunger Games, Beautiful Creatures, etc. Hush, Hush is a way better book than Twilight. Yes, I used to have an obsession with Twilight, but now I have realised that actually, there are so many other books out there that are better, that should never be compared to Twilight.

The story is told through the eyes of Nora Grey. I think the books that are best are the books written in first-person, because you get so much insight into the way that a certain character thinks and behaves, and it just adds so much more to a book. Although, it's only one character, they also interpret the way that other people act, far better than I would have, if I was just reading the book in third person. It helps me get a real feel of the characters, and makes it easier to relate to them, which is good.

Patch is by far my favourite character in the book. He's so mysterious and brooding, yet he's sweet and sensitive around Nora. He falls so hard for her, and so his plans (I won't reveal what they are) change, for the better. Their story has everything it needs, and I absolutely cannot wait for Crescendo, the next book in the series, as I said before. I can only imagine that it will be amazing.
