Book Blogger Hop #10 and Follow Friday #5

It's Friday again, so time for the Book Blogger Hop and the Follow Friday!

Book Blogger Hop

What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?

My answer: I didn't really enjoy Fallen by Lauren Kate very much, and I'm not sure why, I just didn't. Anyway, I wasn't really sure how to post my review, but I ended up saying why I didn't like it, but also all the parts I thought were good. I always try and post my honest opinion, and if I didn't like a particular book, I will try and say so in the nicest way possible, saying what the good bits were too. Because a book can't be all bad, can it?

What do you do besides reading/reviewing as a hobby?

My answer: Although reading takes up a lot of my time, I do do other things... I play the flute, and am currently on Grade 6 so that takes up a lot of my time too... And apart from reading and reviewing on my blog, I don't really do much else. I listen to a lot of music... It depends what mood I'm in really :L

  1. Hi. New visitor from the BBH.
I agree with your choice. I couldn't finish Fallen but since I didn't finish it, I didn't feel okay about posting a review of it, especially a negative one.
Off to check out some of your posts this week.
    Have a good weekend,
    Rachel Star :)

  4. Hi Bella! Thanks for stopping by my blog:) Fallen seems to be a pretty popular answer to this question! I thought it was okay, I read it before I started blogging and enjoyed it, but now that I've read a lot more YA books, I can see how it would be disappointing in comparison:) I'm an old follower, I hope you have a great weekend!

  8. I just bought Fallen. I hope I end up liking it, but this is a pretty common answer so far. Maybe, I'll go in with low expectations and I'll end up liking it. ;)

  9. I'm actually not too eager to read Fallen despite the hype, and since a lot of people have been saying it's not amazing, I think I'll keep not reading it.

Stopping by from Follow Friday and am your newest follower~~

  10. Hey Bella! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and follow me. I'm swinging by to return the favor and follow you.

I agree that it is important to try to find something good to say about a novel if you have to write a negative review because a lot of hard work goes into writing a book whether or not it's good or bad.

I don't believe that reviews that simply trash a novel are good because they tend not to be constructive to the author, so it's important to make sure to back up what you're saying in a sensible way.

    Happy Hop!

  14. Happy HOP! I had a REALLY hard time with The Hollow and the Bree Tanner novella. Posting my review on Stephenie Meyer gave me the image of an angry mob with pitchforks coming to lynch me. LOL gotta love the imagination!

Book Review: Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Title: Where She Went Author: Gayle Forman Series: If I Stay #2 Pages: 260 Publisher: Random House Date of UK Publication: April 28th 2011 Source: Borrowed from friend Synopsis from Goodreads: It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever. Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future and each other. Good morning! Hope you're having a good week! Today I have a review for one of the biggest titles at YALC this year.
