Synopsis from Goodreads: No sickness, No injuries, No pain, No limits.

If you had the power to heal, what would you do?

For fifteen-year-old Ada discovering that she can heal feels more like a curse than a gift. When she learns of the mystery surrounding her mother's disappearance, and sees the indifference of so-called friends, she sets out for Paris to find her.

The power to heal protects her, but also has her hunted by a man who sees her as nothing more than his fountain of youth. Ada realizes her true power is her will to survive, and that her only chance at freedom is to become the best at escaping.

Ada hasn't grown up in a house with a white picket fence. Instead she was cast off and absorbed into the foster care system, quickly putting up a shield of hostility. Always knowledgeable of the sicknesses of those around her and never getting hurt just seemed like facts of life. Finally on her last strike of trouble, an estranged aunt comes to the rescue, giving Ada the knowledge of how to use her healing power. Now Ada, who up to this point has shunned the world, all of the sudden has the power to heal it.

*Include MINOR spoilers... But they're only really little. ;P*
My Thoughts: I didn't really know what to expect from this novel. I expected from the cover for it to be quite dark and gothic, but actually, while reading, I didn't think it was at all really. (And talking of the cover, I'd just like to say how awesome the pictures in the book were! And I also loved how throughout the book, every chapter and picture was framed with butterflies...)

Anyway, Ada was pretty good. I enjoyed reading it. The plot was good, and it kept me reading. I liked the characters too, though some of them could have been fleshed out a little more, to make them seem more real.

Ada was a good main character, and her healing power was an interesting one. I've never read anything about a healer, so when I started reading I wasn't really sure what to expect. One thing that did bug me a little though, was how she went around healing people everywhere. I would have thought that she would at least be a little more secretive about it, even if it was just to keep some mystery in the story.

My favourite character though has to be Madame Jardin. I loved how she was so kind and caring towards Ada, even though she didn't know her at all. She was caring and sweet, and I couldn't help but love her, even though it was kind of obvious that things were probably not going to work out. She was awesome.
While I did enjoy it, there were small things about the story that I annoyed me. There were so many grammatical mistakes throughout the whole book. I know a missing question mark or a random capital letter added shouldn't make a difference to my reading experience, but it really did annoy me that while I was reading I would stop to point out in my head a mistake. Also, a lot of things happened so quickly, I was confused and had to read back over the last few paragraphs, so I could understand what was going on. And lastly, it was very predictable, and I could see all the twists coming about 50 pages before they happened.

Overall though, I did enjoy Ada Legend of a Healer and I would recommend it to readers who are a fan of YA paranormal, or who like something a little bit different. And, if you can look over grammatical errors and rushed plot points, even better. =]
