#countdownya: Interview with Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivison

Welcome to my stop on the Countdown to 5th June blog tour! Today I've got an interview (with a twist!) from Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivison, authors of LOBSTERS, which, just like all the other books featured on the blog tour, is coming out on 5th June! I've been lucky enough to read it already and it's FAB and so funny, and this post will give you a taste of what to expect from the book itself (you can also read an extract here ).   I gave the authors five awkward situations that one might find oneself in at some point. Each author wrote an answer, sharing how they would react. You fall over in public. There is underwear on show. Everyone saw, but no one helps you. What do you do? LUCY: Style it out. Pretend you totally meant to fall over. Roll around on the pavement a bit for good measure... and then when there is a lull in spectators get up and RUN. TOM: Jump up immediately and start confidently speaking to an imaginary cameraman 'hiding' in t...

VIII by HM Castor Blog Tour

Hey, welcome to my stop on the VIII by Harriet Castor blog tour! It's especially exciting today, as it's release day, and I'm lucky enough to be celebrating with a Q&A with Harriet herself! The answers are great, and the book is so good, so if you're a historical fiction fan (and even if you're not), read on! :D __________ Hi Harriet, welcome to Cheezyfeet Books! Tell us a little bit about yourself! Hi Cheezyfeet! Many thanks for having me here. Well, I’m a Tudor history obsessive, trained dance notator and Fred Astaire fan. (Erm, does that sound like a weird combination?) I’ve had more than 40 children’s books published, plus 1 adult novel, but VIII is my first YA novel. And I’m so excited about it! Why did you decide to become an author? Was it always a dream of yours, or did a story idea just pop into you head and you just had to write it down? I’ve always loved writing stories, but I wrote my first published book almost by accident. I wa...

Kill All Enemies Blog Tour

Hey everyone, and today is my stop on the Kill All Enemies by Melvin Burgess blog tour! Yay! I have my first author Q&A session to share with you, which I'm super excited about, and his answers are awesome, in my opinion :) So here they are! ____________________ Bella: Hi Melvin, welcome to Cheezyfeet Books! Tell us about Kill All Enemies in less than 20 words. Melvin: It follows three teenagers in deep trouble, who turn out to be heroes in other areas of their lives. B: What inspired you to write Kill All Enemies? M: We’re always hearing abut bad kids – the kind who get excluded from school, get into fights – maybe the kind of kids who were out in the recent riots. I wanted to try and find out what was going inside their heads, so I went out to interview them. I was as amazed as any9one when I found out that so many of them were real heroes. B: Could you tell us a little about what it was like to go to the PRUs to research for Kill All Enemies? M: Really inte...
