Teaser Tuesday #16: The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB from Should Be Reading , and you have to share a few sentences from the book your currently reading, so here's mine, from The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. I haven't read much, so it'll be quite close to the beginning so I won't spoil anything for you or for me! (Sorry I don't have the page number as I'm reading this on my Kindle!)   Synopsis from Goodreads.com:   Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers. Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But ...

Teaser Tuesday #15: Forsaken by Jana Oliver + Kindle Low Prices

This week I'm reading Forsaken by Jana Oliver, about a girl who is the daughter of one of the best demon trappers in the world. It's really awesome, and the cover is gorgeous!   Synopsis from Goodreads:   Riley has always wanted to be a Demon Trapper like her father, and she's already following in his footsteps as one of the best. But it's tough being the only girl in an all-guy world, especially when three of those guys start making her life more complicated: Simon, the angelic apprentice who has heaven on his side; Beck, the tough trapper who thinks he's God's gift, and Ori, the strikingly sexy stranger who keeps turning up to save her ass. One thing's for sure - if she doesn't keep her wits about her there'll be hell to pay... My Teaser:  'Beck took a sharp intake of breath as if she'd broken something inside him. She turned her back on him and let the tears fall. A door closed and then there was silence.' - page 78  __________...

Teaser Tuesday #14: Siren by Tricia Rayburn

This week's teaser comes from Siren by Tricia Rayburn, which I am currently reading for the 2011 Debut Author Challenge. Synopsis from Goodreads:  Vacationing in Winter Harbor, Maine, is a tradition for Vanessa and Justine Sands, and that means spending time with the Carmichael boys. This summer, Vanessa is determined to channel some of her older sister’s boldness, get over her fear of the ocean, and maybe turn her friendship with Simon Carmichael into something much more. But when Justine goes cliff-diving after a big family argument, and her body washes ashore the next day, Vanessa is sure that it was more than an accident. She is more certain of this, when she discovers that her sister was keeping some big secrets and Caleb Carmichael’s gone missing. Suddenly, the entire oceanfront town is abuzz when a series of grim, water-related accidents occur, with the male victims washed ashore grinning from ear to ear. Vanessa and Simon team up to figure out if these creepy deaths have...

This week my teaser is from City of Glass, which is the third book in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.  Synopsis: To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. Teaser Tuesday #11: Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder

He seemed to be in no hurry to call for help, probably didn't even know he should be reporting me. I wasn't taking any more chances; I climbed onto the couch, trying to reach the air duct.
